La Maison de Canuts is a museum in Lyon about the soie (silk) Industry. When the program I am in went there we had a walk through of how the silk is made, what it’s made out of and the history of it. This fine silk has been used through the centuries to make everything from King Louis royal robes to George Washington’s wig (… that last part may not be true… but if you ever get the tour, you’ll understand why I say that… yuck!)
Here are some photos I snapped while there. It’s quite interesting, if you’re interested in fashion or fabric and get the change to visit Lyon, I’d recommend checking out this museum. This process will really blow your mind.
